The Multimode Group began its journey on September 21, 1981. The Multimode Group is a family-owned business and its founder is also its CEO, Abdul Awal Mintoo. Currently, four members of the family are directly involved with the company. The Group started in shipping but has since diversified into many industries.Perhaps the most notable venture of Multimode in its early days was Panda Garden, a Chinese restaurant that revolutionized the dining/entertainment industry in Bangladesh.
Since the mid-eighties, Multimode Group has diversified into manufacturing/producing in the Agriculture, Textile, and Chemical Industries. The Group also has trading businesses ranging from Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), to automotives, to computer software. Multimode is also involved in real estate and money remittance and also has a presence in the financial, tourism/hospitality, IT, and energy sectors in Bangladesh.
